World Visionaries Board of Advisors
Deanna Cochran
Hello, I’m glad you are taking a look around! I wanted to create an online presence for us who practice independently and no one had created one yet that was inclusive of all of the various types of people who are here. Where we all have common ground is that we all serve people before, during and after death.
I hope you share my vision of having a strong, safe, respected and thriving community of practitioners. We come from every corner of the earth, doing everything you can imagine, from bedside singing to home funerals. You will meet people who want to de-medicalize the dying process and get it out of the hospitals as a normal place of occurrence.
So many people have no idea what is available to them as they navigate the time period of “end of life.” My hope is that if someone comes here looking for spiritual support, or practical support or even medical support, they will bump into others and other roles they have never heard of. For instance, there are many people who have never heard of an end of life midwife, or know they can have a home funeral. Living wake is a beautiful option yet so many have never heard of that either.
I want people to learn about the nurturing and the care they can receive at the end of life. I want them to meet us and know we are serving from our heart and calling. The more we become known as a central gathering place for all types of end of life support, the better they will be served as they will have more choice.
peace,
