  • From beauty and glam to guiding loved ones through their end of life transition, Brenda Young’s journey has been quite the adventure!

The last 35+ years, Brenda has studied, trained and achieved certifications in a wide variety of healing arts and spirituality. Clinical and Oncology Skin Care, Reiki Master, Nutrition, Qi Gong, Wellness and Holistic Cancer Coaching are just a few of Brenda’s tools in her tool box.

After Brenda lost her mother to Cancer, she looked at how the process of death effected not only her own mother as she transitioned but how it affected Brenda and her immediate family. She then created the “Harmony in Balance: Surviving Cancer” Program.  This helped her fill in the gaps and create a way for people to create deep personal health spiritually, physically and emotionally. It also allowed her to see death in a more beautiful light and help take out the fear, overwhelm, anxiety and confusion from this process.

Brenda discovered that all her tools from the Aesthetics to the holistic and spiritual modalities helped people in a variety of stages of life and now really help in creating a customized approach to supporting people and their families as the difficult times arise.

This is why becoming an End of Life Doula also known as Death Doula became her passion in life. This gave her a way to give back, support those who are going through what Brenda and her mother went through- making the transition sacred, safer, beautiful, less fearful and filled with love, support and loving memories

    My Story

In 1999, I lost my mother who was also my best friend to cancer. Her poor body was exhausted from the toxic combinations of chemicals that they used to attack the cancerous cells. The doctors new what they were doing, and in fact were making great progress in destroying the cancer, but unfortunately, no one looked at the other sides of the coin which could have made such an incredible difference in her survival.

In her final hours, as her body was slowly shutting down, tired of the fight, I lay with her in bed, reading to her, “Awakening the Mind, Lightening the Heart”, by the Dali Lama, holding her, loving her and reassuring her that we (dad, her 3 children and 6 grandchildren) would all be ok so she could rest in peace. As she took her final breath, in my arms, I was singing one of her favorite songs to her, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”. She absolutely loved Judy Garland. By the way, my mother’s name was also Judy, and everyone loved her. Her smile was infectious and she greeted everyone with a loving hug. I believe that I was extremely lucky in that I developed her compassion for people and if you know me, I love to give out hugs as well. This experience has stayed with me for years and has brought me where I am today.

I have been told that I am an angel sent from above because of the care and compassion that I bring to the entire family.  I believe that death is a sacred act that should be respected, and the people experiencing it should never feel as if they are alone.

I have services that are both face to face and virtual.  Please visit my website for a listing of services.
